What does a typical system cost?

We can supply and fit an eight zone intruder alarm system with control panel and remote keypad for £499. Although we would always recommend that one of our engineers surveys your property in order to suggest the most effective security for your premises.

What are the rules affecting false alarms?

False alarms very rarely are caused by technical faults. Most are due to human error or misuse of the system. After three false alarms in a twelve month period the police will withdraw their response. A period of at least three months free from false alarms must be achieved to reinstate police response. However, alarm companies are required to identity the reason for the false alarm and in the event of repeated false alarms we will work with the client to resolve the problem through training or changes to the system.

How long does a system take to install?

It depends on the size, complexity and type of system.

Virtually all wire free systems can be fitted in one day with the minimum of disruption.

The majority of hard wire systems can be fitted in one day but extra time may be necessary depending on the size of the system. All wiring is monitored against tampering. Every effort is made to conceal wiring under floorboards and carpets and we pride ourselves on the quality of our work, we never forget that is your house we are working in.

Full training is given at the end of the installation to ensure the customer is fully conversant with the workings of the system.

Who can be keyholders?

For domestic customers, keyholders are normally members of the family or close friends who live within a fairly close proximity of the property.

For commercial premises, keyholders are normally senior and trusted members of staff.

Do I need a service contract?

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure that your system remains fully operational and that any faults are identified and rectified as soon as possible.

If you have a monitored system you will automatically have a service contract from day one. One of engineers will visit your premises every six months to check the system is operating correctly. If any changes have been made to the property within the previous six months our engineer can advice on any additional measures or changes to security that may be necessary.

Can I pay for my system by installments?

For Domestic customers, we are able to accept payment by all major debit and credit cards.

For Commercial customers, we are able to offer a range of very competitive Lease Finance packages with fixed monthly repayments to spread the cost over three or even five years.

Annual maintenance for both domestic and commercial customers can be paid monthly by Direct Debit.

Pets and false alarms

Pets are a very common cause of false alarms. Most systems use motion sensors and whilst these can be configured and positioned to minimise the risk of false alarms the risk can never be totally eradicated.

Pets should be restricted to one or two rooms when the system is activated, these rooms could be protected by non-motion detectors such as door contacts and window sensors.

Can I take the system with me when I move?

Once you have paid for the system it is yours. You could leave it in the property for the new owners or, for a small fee we will remove the system and reinstall it in your new property.

Can I add to my system?

Yes, you can add additional features at any time, we can either come to your property to discuss your requirements or when our engineers carry out your periodical service they can advise on any additions or modifications you need.
